Are these tail lights compatible with all Golf MK6 models?

These lights are compatible with VW Golf MK6 TSI, TDI, GTI, GTD, and R models (2008-2013). Note that they are specifically for Right-Hand Drive (RHD) vehicles and do not fit the Golf MK6 Variant (Estate) model.

Is the installation process difficult?

No, installation is designed to be a simple 'plug & play' process. The lights use the original connectors, meaning no complex wiring or modifications are required.

Do I need to purchase additional bulbs for these tail lights?

No, these are full LED tail light assemblies. They include integrated functions for running lights, brake lights, sequential turn indicators, reverse lights, and fog lights, so no extra bulbs are needed.

Are these tail lights road legal?

Yes, these lights are registration-free and come with an E-mark, indicating they meet necessary safety and quality standards for road use.

How do these LED lights improve upon the original factory lights?

They offer a modern aesthetic with a red/smoke finish and enhanced brightness via LED technology, providing better visibility and a significant visual upgrade over stock lighting.

Road legality & MOT

Left-hand drive / right-hand drive tail lamps, read before ordering

Tail lamps and rear light clusters are drive-side specific too. Most sets are a direct fit and road legal in the UK, but the lens layout can differ between left-hand drive and right-hand drive cars.
The difference is usually where the reverse light and the rear fog light sit. UK MOT rules require the rear fog lamp on the offside (driver’s side) or centrally mounted, and reverse lamps must work, so an overseas layout can fail until the bulb holder or wiring is moved.
Check the lens layout in the photos, or send us your vehicle details and we will confirm the fog and reverse lamp positions before you buy.

This set is listed as left-hand drive (LHD). The lens positions are laid out for a left-hand drive car, so the rear fog and reverse lights may be on the wrong sides for UK MOT. Message us before ordering and we will confirm the exact layout.
